Carlsbad Avenue/Yellowstone Lane Storm Drain Improvement Project

Background

The Carlsbad Avenue/Yellowstone Lane Storm Drain Improvement Project area is located in the Arden-Arcade community of Sacramento County and is bounded to the north by Yellowstone Lane, to the south by Marconi Avenue, to the east by Wright Street, and to the west by Bell Street.  The Project area is a mixed-use corridor consisting of approximately 110 acres of predominantly low-density residential with some commercial development.    The Department of Water Resources initiated the project due to flooding reports on Carlsbad Avenue and Rainbow Avenue.

Description of Project:

The project will abandon existing drainage facilities constructed between 1941 and 1946. The project will install new drainage facilities in Carlsbad Avenue, Rainbow Avenue, and Yellowstone Lane.  The improved system will better capture and convey runoff during minor and major storm events, reducing the localized street flooding residents of the area currently experience.
